Access: Se debe solicitar autorización para ingresar al parque, en el sector de la Mina Marte, donde el acceso está cerrado.En su acceso se pueden usar 2 vías, la principal vía de comunicación entre la ciudad de Copiapó y la unidad, es el camino internacional C-31, que une la Provincia de Copiapó con la Provincia de Catamarca en Argentina, se accede llegando al extremo suroeste del Salar de Maricunga, siguiendo el camino que va por el Valle Ancho y de ahí por el sector de Pantanillo, hasta la quebrada del río Astaburuaga y por ésta a través de la Ciénaga del Negro Francisco
Comments: Se ubica dentro del Parque Nacional Nevado Tres Cruces a 226 kms. al este de Copiapó.Se distinguen dos sectores dentro de la laguna de acuerdo a sus grados de salinidad
